Once upon a time, in a peaceful forest, there lived a little rabbit named Ruby. Ruby was very kind, but also very shy. Every day, she loved to play near the river and eat fresh grass.

One afternoon, while Ruby was playing, she suddenly heard a loud roar. It was a hungry fox!

The fox saw Ruby and tried to catch her. Ruby’s heart was beating fast, but she didn’t give up. She quickly ran as fast as she could through the forest.

The fox was bigger and stronger, but Ruby was faster and smarter. She ran into a small hole under a tree, a place where the fox could not reach. The fox became angry and went away.

After that day, Ruby learned something important: being small doesn’t mean being weak. With courage and cleverness, even the smallest creature can survive and win.

And so, Ruby continued to live happily in the forest, braver than ever before.

The Legend of Malin Kundang

Once upon a time, in a small village in West Sumatra, lived a poor widow and her only son named Malin Kundang. They lived in poverty, but the mother loved her son very much.

As Malin grew older, he decided to go to the city to find a better life. His mother agreed, even though her heart was sad. Before he left, she prayed for his safety and success.

Years passed, and Malin became a rich man. He had a big ship, many crews, and a beautiful wife.

One day, his ship stopped near his hometown. His mother, who was already old and weak, heard the news and came to see him. She was so happy to finally meet her beloved son again.

But when she approached him, Malin was ashamed of her old and poor appearance. In front of his wife and crew, he denied her, saying, “I don’t know this old woman!” The mother’s heart was broken.

With tears, she prayed to God to punish her ungrateful son. Suddenly, the sky turned dark, the sea became rough, and lightning struck Malin’s ship. Malin turned into stone as a punishment for disobeying and denying his mother.

Until today, the stone of Malin Kundang can still be found near the beach in West Sumatra, reminding everyone to always respect and love their parents.

The Lion and the Mouse

One day, a lion was sleeping in the forest. Suddenly, a little mouse ran over his body and woke him up. The lion was very angry and caught the mouse with his big paw.

“Please, don’t eat me!” cried the mouse. “One day, I will help you.”

The lion laughed loudly. “You? A tiny mouse? How can you help me?” But finally, the lion let the mouse go.

A few days later, the lion was trapped in a hunter’s net.

He roared and tried to escape, but he couldn’t. Hearing the roar, the little mouse came and started to bite the rope. Slowly, the net broke and the lion was free again.

“Thank you, little mouse,” said the lion. “Now I know that even the smallest friend can be a great help.”
